If you're signed in to Skype but don't know where to find your Skype Name/ID, you can check this Help article below:

What's my Skype Name?

If you sign up using mobile number, your Skype Name is: live:alphanumeric or what we called lightweight account and if you sign up using email, your Skype Name is: live:email, but the domain will not be visible.

I assure you that your mobile number and your complete email address will not be displayed publicly.

So, if someone, such as a customer, asks for my Skype ID - presumably so they can initiate a Skype call to me, what should I give them?

Hello,

For an account created using an email address, this will be in the form of live:firstpartofemail and the Skype Name to be provided is your exact email address.

For an account created using a phone number, this will be in the form of live:alphanumericcharacters and the Skype Name to be provided is your exact mobile number, in this format: plus sign + country code + mobile number.

Skype display name is the one that is readily seen on public.

Skype Names / IDs are system-generated and is account specific. It is 'concealed' in a way to lessen unwanted contacts. It is recommended to provide Skype Names / IDs only to one's trusted contacts.

You can try the simpler steps below in finding your Skype Name / ID:

• Sign in to the Skype app.

• Click any contact.

• On the messaging box, type /dumpmsnp and hit enter.

• Look for *Skype name

Or use Skype for Web

• Click on Profile picture

• Skype name or ID will show under the Skype display name
